Junction Released!

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to pass along a note to let you know that I have just released Junction to the public! Check it out at the Junction homepage.
I am currently trying to find out how I can release Junction to the WordPress theme directory. At the moment, WordPress only accepts normal themes, and not child themes. I […]

Theme Almost Ready for Testing - Sign Up Now!

I’m just putting the finishing touches on Junction right now, and will be moving on to testing very soon (probably by Friday). If you would be interested in giving it a test-run, please leave a comment here (leave your email in the email section, don’t publish it in your comment).

Just Need to Recalibrate

I know, this isn’t the first time you’ve seen me start this whole thing over. Really, I am not starting over at all. I just felt that I needed to take my “theme in progress” down for a while until it was closer to being ready for launch. I learned a very valuable lesson though: […]

Title Background Idea

I had an idea for a post title background today. I was somewhat inspired by the new header for Last.fm.
Take a look at the idea, and tell me what you think!

The title would be in Din Bold, using sIFR. Also, I’m debating between Georgia and Lucida Grande for body text. I really like Lucida Grande, but also […]

In The Details - More Date Display Inspiration

As I have been researching more design details for my “In The Details” series, I came across quite a few more date displays that I felt I needed to share. So, before we get to tomorrow’s post on what I’m calling “image ribbons,” I thought I’d post a few more date displays for your enjoyment.

In The Details - Image Ribbon Inspiration

Note: This is a re-post from before my database crash. Thanks Google for having the back up!
Sometimes something almost unnoticeable is the very thing that can take a design from good to great. In web design, one of those simple elements is an image ribbon. The basic premise is to use a “ribbon” of some sort […]

What’s Going On Here?

So, as some of you may know, my entire blog was erased last week while I was attempting to install something on my web server. Unfortunately, while Media Temple has a backup of the database, they want to charge me over $120 just to restore it, which I just don’t have. So, it’s back to […]

sIFR and Wordpress

Note: The sIFR doesn’t seem to be working at the moment. I’m working on a fix this weekend. Hopefully everything will be good by this weekend. The problem happened when I tried to use sIFR 3 with the Flashy Titles plugin. I’ll have an update when everything’s fixed.
On a few of the blog designs […]

Blank Canvas

Made a few style decisions regarding the blog today. As I had posted earlier, I want the design to have a personal feeling to it. I want it warm and inviting, and to almost have a “hand drawn” aspect to it.
I’ve started to dig into the stylesheets a bit. One of the things I love about […]
