hey man i love your site.. your friend michael told me you were looking for a new way to earn some extra income online.

i own an awesome website where you can make money online..most our users are making like 20-50 bucks a day.. with minimal work.. its pretty simple to do.. its actually so easy to do you won't believe ill actually pay you to do it.. and its 100% free to sign up and try.

another positive about my site unlike all the other sites.. i will pay you out daily.. so you earn 5 bucks in the first 5 minutes you work on my site.. request a payout and i will pay you out right then.. i guarantee no other sites like mine will pay out daily multiple times..

i'd be glad to help you.. if you sign up..

That's solid. That's exactly the info I was wondering about.

That almost puts a final nail in the coffin of the decision.

Hey Paul,
Thanks so much for a great discussion. It's definitely good to get another view on these things.

I think I wasn't being fair in what I was saying about Ghandi's quote. I suppose what my main point is to say that if there are supposed to be 2 billion professing Christians in this world, and billions before that, I would think the world would be a better place than it is. What I'm saying is that I understand how someone like Ghandi can look at the message of Jesus and then look at those who claim to follow his teachings and see a huge disconnect.

Regarding the church, I don't think I agree with the idea of focusing on the "individualism." Throughout the Bible, God repeatedly makes it clear that we are to experience grace as a community, whether that be a town, church, nation, family, etc. The problem with individualism is that it's too easy to disown the overall image that the church projects. Personally, I take personal ownership of whatever any church does. We are all accountable when one of us fails. Sure, I may not be personally accountable, however I have chosen to identify with the same movement, the same organization, and therefore as a whole am guilty. This allows me as an individual the opportunity to take action to change the image that the church has, rather than focusing solely on how I look to the world. I believe that just as God is best represented in the union of man and woman, God is also best represented when the church identifies as one. I may not like what the other parts are doing, but I have chosen to take ownership of it.

I assume you are asking about car insurance/renting.

You dont have to maintiain monthly insurance, but if you do it usually covers you for rental cars.

I usually buy the temp insurance. Depending on where you rent from it can be a stupid price, but in the bigger scheme of things its not that much and its worth it, that way I dont have to worry about what happens to the car

Solid point, Kevin.

Question about renting, though: do you have to maintain monthly car insurance in order to rent? Or do you buy temp insurance for that?

Just as a note in regards to the car "issue". when you don't have one there are still many options, one being taking a cab (for in town) or renting a car (for out of town trips). To those who own cars this might seem like extra money spent or wasted money, BUT when you don't have any of the expenses of a car (gas, repair, insurance, car payments) taking a cab or renting a car a few times here and there is still very much cheaper than the owning a car alternative.

That is an interesting take about Gandhi. If that is true, that would mean that a Hindu was looking at all that was wrong with the world and laying the blame at the feet of the Christians? That doesn't really make sense. Why wouldn't he first rally his own base? This could be the equivalent of me saying something like, "America would be such a better place if it wasn't for those jerks in Japan." What would that have to do with anything?

I can't really address why there is still poverty in the world when there are so many Christians, except to say maybe you're judging a little harshly? I was really just address the issue of Christians living transformed lives. I think this is a much bigger issue than just "there are lots of Christians, so there shouldn't be poverty".

By that same logic, if we are really believe the power of what we are preaching, I could be just as justified in stating that "There are lot's of Christians, so if we're all preaching this message, then there shouldn't be anyone who isn't saved."

I'm not really so sure about there being 2 billion Christians in the world. Whenever I hear statics about Christianity, I always think of the time I signed up for myspace. In your profile when get to select what religion you are, the choice for Christianity is presented as "Christian/Other". I think that pretty much sums up what the world thinks of us, and I am left to wonder how many people of those 2 billion are "Christian" and how many are just "Other".

To address your issue about the church... I honestly don't worry too much about the 'church' as a whole these days. In my younger days I kept jumping from church to church to church looking for that perfect church, but I slowly realized that is not about the "collectivism" of the church but rather the "individualism" of my heart. If I keep working how I feel lead, and keep serving within my church, I've found that it's a much better place. And if you find yourself with a group of people doing this... then you can really get stuff done.

I agree that there is always always always room for personal growth and development in the realms of a person's spiritual and intellectual life. There is always something that can be done for someone else, there are always worthy causes to fight for. And it is noble and good to be acting on these. Every Christian should.

@John: You're very right, cross town travel would be a nightmare. However, I have put some thought into what I would do.

I have a bike, which I have used to travel from Blackfriars Street to Dorchester (23km ride). I don't see it being a negative to have to work to get where I need
There are very few places I go to:
	Work.
Girlfriend's
Church
Barrie

All of these are within biking distance or a bus ride for longer travels. The cost of keeping a car around just for long distances for me isn't really worth it.

I still have a lot of thinking to do about the topic, but there has been some thought behind it all!

@Paul: I don't imagine that Ghandi was looking at Christians when he said what he said. I imagine he was looking at the poor, the hungry, the dying. I don't think any of us can look at our lives and be ok with how we are. You can't tell me we're doing well when 2 billion people profess to be Christian and there's still poverty.

I've struggled a lot in my mind about what the church today needs to look like. I strongly suggest reading "The Irresistible Revolution." It was not what I thought it was going to be when I first bought it, but it shook me to the core.
