Getting Back Into The Game

For the past few weeks or so, I’ve really been slacking off with my eating and exercise. I’ve probably put on about 5-10 lb that I had already lost, which is fairly discouraging. I struggle with how to re-energize and encourage myself to get back on when I fall. One of the few things I’ve found that has helped has been to enlist the help of others to encourage me. My girlfriend, for one, has been an incredible encouragement, as have several other friends along the way.

A while back, Carlos Whitaker of Ragamuffin Soul began documenting his weight loss. From the videos I remember seeing, he was pretty open about it all.

My plan is to do something very similar, but I don’t think I can go it alone. I’m asking all of you who, like me, spend your days locked down to a desk in front of a monitor to join me in a challenge. The goal won’t be a certain amount of weight lost, or a certain amount of muscle gained. The challenge will be to successful instill in our lives healthy eating and activity habits. This can be as individual as you like, but hopefully through it all we will gain encouragement from one another.

In the next few days I’m going to post my current status, my goals and my strategy.

And you may even get a video of the belly…

Take a look at James Mathias’ fitness blog: http://leihu.com/fit/
He’s fallen behind a bit since he moved across the country, but the format he uses is a strong one.
