It’s been too long since I last did a “new music” blog post, but I wanted to share this music with you. 

Phil Wickham is a worship leader from the US. He’s only 24, which makes me really jealous, but he’s really talented as well. A while ago, Phil recorded a live CD with over 3000 people in attendance called “singalong.” The cool thing? He’s giving it away for free. All you have to do is sign up for his mailing list (of which I have yet to receive a message…hmm) and you get all 15 tracks for free.

I downloaded the CD a while ago but didn’t love it first listen. However, after a couple listens, I’ve realized that this cd is a very powerful cd. It’s pretty awesome to hear this many people singing songs, full of abandon and honour to God. It’s a passion of mine to lead people like this, and the few times I’ve had the opportunity to have been amazing. 

Check out the CD. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

why do people who understand, yet officially don’t associate with christianity live more transformed lives than we do?  why do those of us who say we believe fail to live like we are transformed by what we believe?

Anne Jackson asked this question today on her blog, and it’s a question I’ve been asking myself for the past few months. 

Why is it that those who claim to follow Jesus seem to do the least when it comes to actually doing what he says?

I haven’t found a solid answer yet. Have you?

23 years ago when I was just a few months old, my family and I moved to a newly built house in Dorchester, Ontario. I grew up in that house my entire life. I went to school in Dorchester, played sports in Dorchester, had most of my friends in Dorchester. My life was basically zoned in on this small town. When I got my licence, my life started to spread out a bit more towards London. When I left for college, my horizons really started to expand as I was meeting people from all over Ontario and even the world.

In March of this year, I made the very hard decision to move back home. I had piled up some debt, and needed some grounding before I could get my feet back under me. I’m so appreciative of my parents who no matter what have always been there for me. My dad walked me through getting my debt paid off (I will be debt free in the next month or two). I’ve learned to live on a very lean budget (at least compared to how I had been living) and have realized the necessity to save and plan out a strategic personal budget. 

Yet, while this whole living at home experience has been great, I have this feeling that I can’t seem to shake. Even though I don’t have many rules at home, I feel a lack of independence. Also, I am very dependent on my car, which if I didn’t need, would save me close to $400-500 a month in insurance, gas, and repairs. 

I would really love to find a cheap bachelor pad close to downtown (preferably North of Dundas and West of Adelaide) where I can really have my own stuff, my own place to call home. A place where I can invite friends over for drinks and a game, or to watch a movie, or just to hang out and chat. I’ve started to get more into cooking, and would love to be able to have a few friends over for dinner. 

So, while living at home has been so amazing and helpful, at the same time I would really love to move on.
